Ultimate Skin Care Regimen For Healthy Skin (+ Freebie)

Ultimate Skin Care Regimen For Healthy Skin (+ Freebie)

Hey Hey Hey!
The new year has started and that means another year our skin has to go through harsh treatment. Soon it will be hot which means UVA and UVB rays will take a toll on your pigmentation and skin cells which cause those horrible wrinkles, blemishes etc.. How do you protect your skin before that time of the year gets here? Start NOW!!

Don't wait until your skin starts acting out. Prepare your skin now and prevent those wrinkles, blemishes, and discoloration from occurring this year.

Put "NEW SKIN CARE REGIMEN" on your new year new me list. I know you have one...so go ahead and put it on your list. By using this beauty regimen Just 10 Minutes A Day will Keep The Dermatologist Away.

Step 1: Dual Cleanse Daily
Do you wash your face in the morning and at night?

If not you are allowing skin cells to build on top of each other and this can cause wrinkles or unnecessary breakouts. Just think about how many times a day you touch your face. Yep, all those germs transfer to your skin and that is a BIG problem. Dual cleansing will prevent from product build up, oil build up, and dirty particles in the air building up.

Step 2: Find your Essence

After cleansing your face next you will apply an essence. I am sure at this very moment you are wondering what the heck is an essence. Why does it matter in my skin regimen? Finding the perfect essence is the essential key to healthy skin. It is that secret no one wants you to know about, oh well I spilled.

Quick #luxbeauty lesson: An essence is a pre-serum, its focus is to help the cells in the skin and keep structure. Instead of sitting on the skin it penetrates into the skin cell to fight against wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and fine lines.

*When applying do not rub into skin, pat it into the skin. *I recommend start using a essence at the ages of 26-30. This is when the cells start to slow down and wrinkles occur.*

Step 3: Power Up with A Serum

The right serum for your skin is like having the perfect shoes for your outfit. Wrong shoes + wrong serum = a bad day. In contrast to an essence a serum is not a water or gel consistency. However, serums work on the complexion and anti-aging similar to essences. Serums are created with high doses of anticipated products. For example, if you are buying a serum for acne it will have a high dosage of salicylic acid much more than a moisturizer or cream.

Serums should be applied twice a day for best results.

Step 4: Rejuvenate with Moisturizer

Moisturizer is your protecting knight. It will withstand all the harshness that happens to your skin throughout the day. Some of the wonderful benefits include: minimizing pores, filling in those stubborn lines, SPF to protect against the sun. and of course to moisturize.

Which one of these will you be adding to your beauty regimen?? Let me know below.

Red + Plaid

Red + Plaid

This has to be the best swing dress ever. It is so soft, comfortable and goes with everything. I love how it flows over my curves and how it is just long enough so I don't have to wear tights. I am 5'2 1/2 (yes I want my half of inch) so there is almost nothing too short on me, that has to be one of the bonuses of being a shorty. This dress is also perfect for those days you want to cover up the bloated belly or if you are like me... when your going out to eat. The mozzarella sticks always call my name. (laughing but so true)

Pairing the dress with a over-sized red plaid scarf added the perfect amount of warmth needed on a Alabama winter day. The leather quilted (told you I had a obsession) boots are a new favorite I picked up two weeks ago that I have been trying to wear with everything. After waiting on them for over a month (because they kept selling out) I can definitely say they were worth the wait. I hope you enjoy this post!

5 Steps to Building the Perfect Winter Outfit

5 Steps to Building the Perfect Winter Outfit

The Winter season is one of my favorite times of the year. Besides Christmas I love all of the fashion and trends that arise. I love how you can wear so many types of fabrics or layers and it all looks effortless. Sometimes we over think what we can wear or we just are overwhelmed with all of the styles being worn.

With using the 7 Step Guide to Building the Perfect Winter Outfit you will figure out what exactly you need in your perfect outfit. Use this guide for work, school or date night. You are guaranteed to look beautiful and ready to conquer the season in style!

The first thing you want to make sure you have is a Top. This can include crop tops (long sleeve), t-shirts, sweaters, and blouses.

The second thing you will need is a type of Bottom. I am loving the wide leg trousers that have a 70's vibe and of course some type of fitted jean or dress pants. If you are real comfy but girly I recommend wearing a pair of boyfriend or girlfriend jeans with a cute top, jacket, and heels.

Now we get to discuss one of my favorite items this Winter the Jacket. I have a big obsession with jackets this season. I love them sleeveless, with sleeves, printed, solid colors, cropped, over sized and etc. You name it, I love it! (I totally typed that fast and with excitement)  A jacket can bring your look to total different level. I love to throw on a bright or sleeveless jacket with a leather jacket underneath to add layers and definition to the look.

Okay, so in my current wardrobe my favorites are jackets second and Shoes first! I honestly believe that shoes are a girls best friend. They make you look tall on short days (every short girls dream come true); they don't get jealous if you don't wear them for a month; and did I mention how pretty they look? If you have ever heard about Mariah Carey I am sure you know about her huge closet in NYC filled with shoes. I dream one day I have half the shoe collection she does.

"Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world." -Marilyn Monroe

If you do wear a lot of solid colors this season adding a Scarf with a pop of print such as leopard, flowers, or plaid can make your look complete. I have been reaching for my chunky scarves that have bold colors or prints when I wear my over sized coats. It makes you feel like you are wrapped in a blanket and that is the best feeling when it is cold outside. What kind of scarfs do you enjoy wearing?

Are you still in love with your summer or fall items? If so follow my #1 rule for transitioning your clothes into different seasons.

3 Ways To Enhance Your Natural Beauty

3 Ways To Enhance Your Natural Beauty

This post was inspired by Glossier, a company that sells beauty products to help enhance, not hide your natural beauty? I hope you enjoy! XOXO
we all love that perfect skin look that makeup can provide. Being a makeup artist my clients always want their skin too look perfect with makeup. However, if you are an artist or a dermatologist then you know the most important step to achieve a flawless face is having healthy skin, NOT perfect skin but healthy skin. Your imperfections are what makes you unique and flawless. Your freckles do not make you less flawless than someone who has a scar on their face. I recommend enhancing your natural beauty before applying full coverage products and working on making your skin healthy.

When you wear products to enhance your beauty it takes less time getting ready because you are not covering up your imperfections you are embracing them.

These are the top 3 ways you can enhance your natural beauty everyday:

1. Moisturize + Prime

Nothing is worse than dried out skin in the winter time. When your skin is dry you can get chapped lips, cracked skin, itchy skin and if your like me a lot of redness. Moisturizing is a must not only in the summer time but definitely in the winter. Using a moisturizer and primer in one can prep the skin for the day ahead and keep your skin looking/feeling healthy.

2. Tint Your Coverage

Instead of wearing a full coverage foundation everyday embrace your beauty with a tinted moisturizer, BB Cream, or tinted powder. This will help reduce the appearance of redness, uneven skin tone or blemishes. Tinted coverage is also very light on the skin which helps the skin breath throughout the day.

3. Voluminous Lashes

The best way to appear you have eye makeup on is by wearing mascara. I love to do this on the days I missed my alarm and I am in a rush. The mascara will help enhance your lashes and make your eyes pop. *Wear a nude eyeliner to look more awake.*

These are the top products I love to use when I am running out the door but want to reduce the appearance of redness and veins. Check out my 5 minute makeup routine to learn how you can get ready quicker everyday.

How do you enhance your natural beauty? Do you love the skin your in? If so let me know below.

Texture Blocking + Pink Skirt

Texture Blocking + Pink Skirt

Hey Hey Hey!!

How is your Saturday going and how was your week?

So, I had so much fun putting this outfit together. I decided since it is not too cold in Alabama I would play with textures and fabrics. You have heard me say numerous times that I love fur but I also love anything quilted. I seriously own almost everything in a quilted fabric or design from purses to coats. It only made since to wear a quilted pink pencil skirt and quilted fur handbag. To make the look a little edgy but also chic I threw on a black leather jacket, pointed toe heels and sunglasses. I definitely plan to wear this skirt multiple times. You can't go wrong with a bright color in the winter.

What is your favorite bright color to wear in the winter time? Let me know below. Remember personal style is all about what you love and what makes you feel confident.

No More Bra-Blems in Your Life

No More Bra-Blems in Your Life

Before you start reading this post I want you to think about the last time you had a proper bra fitting...........was it in the last 3 months?....last 6 months?.....last year? If not I recommend sizing yourself or advising with a bra expert as soon as possible. So many women are wearing the wrong size and don't even know it. Say NO to side boob, band riding, digging straps and cup gaping. This is the year to treat your boobs right!

Wearing the wrong bra or size can lead to hurting shoulders, bruised shoulders, back pains, and skin irritation. I remember I started to break out under my boobs and see redness a lot on my shoulders. I thought maybe I was allergic to the material or the washing detergent. After a visit to my local bra store I realized it was because the bra was to tight. My skin couldn't breathe and the straps were digging into my skin causing redness. I was wearing the wrong size.....like 2 sizes to small. Check out Thirdlove's bra collection to find the right bra for you!

Follow the information below to ensure your boobies are sitting up pretty and comfortable this year. Not sure about your breast shape? Check out this amazing dictionary.
So how many categories do your boobs fall into? No worries to solve a problem you must first identify the problem.

This year you may have 99 problems but bra fitting will not be one!

Bows + Fur

Bows + Fur

I have been feeling really glam lately and I thought why not wear some of my favorites in my          first outfit post of 2016! If you know me then you know I am all about faux fur (protect the babies),    sequins (anything shiny), and bows! This combo together screams my name and I couldn't resist          wearing a pink lip.

I have to admit I had so much fun creating these photos. I finally got to wear this beautiful full skirted midi dress and some of my favorite accessories. Wearing the belt on the outside of the faux fur helped it stay in place as I strolled downtown Birmingham, AL. The bow clutch and heels are my go to accessories to spruce up any outfit. They just seemed too perfect not to wear with this dress. I didn't go over board with the makeup or earrings because I wanted the other accessories and dress to get the attention.

This outfit is perfect to wear out to dinner or when you are dressing to impress. Throw on a pop of color lipstick or nail polish to add your personal touch. Of course mine was pink lips and nude nails.

I hope you enjoyed my first outfit post of the year. If so share with me some of your favorite accessories or the one item that makes you feel amazing when you wear it.

4 Steps to Perfect Brows

4 Steps to Perfect Brows

Brows, brows, brows that all you see and hear about lately. There are so many products to choose from that it can get over whelming. You find yourself asking is this what I need? How do I use this product?

2016 is here and it is time to get those brows in shape! Today we are going to breakdown what you need and the 4 Steps to Perfect Brows.

Before you can have perfect brows you must understand the proper products. I am not a fan of the dark overdrawn eyebrows however; I do love natural brows that frame the face. However, we are not all born with natural perfect shaped brows and need a little help. I have thick brows but with the wrong browtician they can be ripped away or shaped too thin. (One has been ripped away, that moment still haunts me.) Thankfully when that moment happens these amazing products can save the day. Above are the products frequently used to achieve the perfect eyebrow-my favorite is the pencil and spoolie.

Products:

  • Perfect for beginners.
  • Use small strokes to create hairs in sparse areas.
  • Blend hairs and product with attached spoolie.
  • Wax is used to hold stubborn hairs in place.
  • Powder is great for quick fill in.
  • Apply with light hand to prevent too dark brows.
  • Great to darken hairs when hair is colored. (If you don't get your brows colored)
  • Perfect to hold hairs in place when using powder.
  • Do not use if you are using a pencil to fill in brows. (it can get messy)
  • Holds hairs in place all day.
  • Apply after using pencil or powder.
  • Perfect for everyday usage.
  • Comb hairs upward or desired shape.
  • Can be applied alone or with powder or pencil.
  • Holds hairs in place.
  • No clumping or flaking

Now that we know of the frequently used products lets discuss the natural brow shape. We all have a natural brow shape that will help ease the process to perfect brows. If this is your first time or your not comfortable with filling in your brow the diagram above shows you exactly where you need to start and end your brows. Use a product listed above to mark where each area is on your brows.
  1. This line starts by the side of your nose and stops by your inner tear duct-this is where the brow begins.
  2. This line starts by the side of your nose and goes across your pupil. It indicates where your natural arch should be located.
  3. This line starts by the side of your nose and goes to the furthest side of the eye. It indicates the end of the eyebrow.
  4. Unless your eyebrows are arched very high the beginning and end should create a perfect line.

Step 1- Brush all hairs upward and desired direction.

Step 2- Using small strokes fill in areas with fine hairs. The goal is NOT to create a new brow structure but to fill in your natural brows.

Step 3- Blend hairs with spoolie after every 3-5 hair like strokes

Step 4- To prevent hairs from moving throughout the day seal with a clear mascara, wax, or brow gel.

Still confused about how to fill in and shape your brows? Sign up for a makeup one on one session HERE. No more guessing or feeling overwhelmed.
